Calling Volunteers for French Quarter Festival 2008 – our 25th Anniversary !
The April 11-13 French Quarter Festival will be a milestone event as we celebrate our 25th Anniversary! Under the leadership of our new executive director, Marci Schramm, we have exciting plans in the works – including bringing back many of our long-time performers (and new ones too), returning to the French Market with our children’s area, establishing an educational outreach component, creating a “new” look for FQF merchandise, utilizing the inside of the Louisiana State Museum’s Old U.S. Mint, and expanding everyone’s favorite T.G.I.F. party on April 10th.
Of course, French Quarter Festival would never be possible without the support of nearly 1,000 dedicated volunteers who enthusiastically pledge their time to provide much-needed staffing. We hope you will consider joining us as a member of our team.
If you are interested in participating, please return the enclosed form to the FQFI office no later than February 22, 2008. This year it is so important that we get your e-mail address so that we can provide excellent communication and up-to-the-minute updates! Please be sure to print your e-mail address on the attached paperwork.
All volunteer assignments are based on your prompt response, completion of the form, and availability. Our volunteer needs do change, so we thank you in advance for your flexibility.
As in the past, all FQF volunteers will be required to wear the official French Quarter Festival 2008 volunteer t-shirt for easy identification. This year’s shirt promises to be a collector’s item! You are also welcome to wear a logo hat if your team or company is seeking recognition.
FQFI depends on volunteers and sponsors to make this free community event possible. Volunteers are truly important to us and we are looking forward to working with you to make our 25th Anniversary a memorable occasion for you, as well as 400,000 festival-goers who join us each year.
